Thanksgiving 2011

The Jones Family met at our house this year for Thanksgiving!  We always have a big crew....and you know what they always say, "The more...the merrier!"...so we were very merry :)

The girls helped Nonnie make the annual turkey cookie, Nonnie made the strawberry salad and I made the PINTEREST recipe that I found...oreo peanut butter dessert.

Jamie decided to deep fry his very 1st turkey for the occassion...and if you know Jamie, you know everything he does, he does exceptionally well...he's quite the perfectionist! ...and guess what? his perfectionism on this turkey just landed him a job.  He is now our family's official "deep-fry-turkey guy"! It was Soooooo good!!  He was mad at me for documenting the turkey procedure through photography...but the occassion deemed importance :)

After everyone got through eating at the feast, Mamaw Jerry had a special story to tell all of us.  She brought this candlestick that her father had made for her when she a small child.  It is something that she has always cherished and wanted to share the story with us.  I had never seen this candlestick...it was very interesting.  Her brother has a matching one also.  The moral of the story was "determination"...she wanted all the kids to know that her daddy never gave up, he was always determined, and she loved those qualities in him.  She encouraged each of the great-grandchildren to strive to have that quality too!
